Primary Purpose of the Position: The primary purpose of this position is to analyze, research, investigate, document and respond to company and citizen complaints and inquiries involving specific bail bond matters, attend informal conferences held by the complaint analyst. In addition, this position must ensure that all licensees comply with North Carolina General Statues and Administrative Rules. Keeping Department management informed about findings of noncompliance and appropriate correction action is taken.**Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences**Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification. The knowledge, skills, and abilities listed in the vacancy announcement should be used as management preferences and be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants.**Management Preferences:*** Working knowledge of bail bonding principles, practices, Department regulation and General Statutes.* Working knowledge of mathematics, with some knowledge of the fundamentals of statistics.* Ability to interpret and apply the provisions of bail bonding laws to actions taken by bail bondsmen and surety companies.* Ability to thoroughly investigate any complaints related to bail bonding and reach a well-supported finding.* Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely in oral and written form.**Minimum Education and Experience**Some state job postings say you can qualify by an “equivalent combination of education and experience.” If that language appears below, then you may qualify through EITHER years of education OR years of directly related experience, OR a combination of both.
