Quality CMS Operator and Programmer (Auburn)

TruFit Staffing is seeking an experienced Quality CMS Operator & Programmer to join a growing aerospace manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Systems (CMS), including laser scanning and CMM equipment, to inspect aerospace components and ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced aerospace quality professional with strong CMS programming, GD&T, and dimensional inspection experience. This is a direct hire opportunity.

Compensation: $36.00–$55.00 per hour, DOE

Schedule: Monday–Friday

Location: Auburn, WA

• Training on 1st Shift: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM

*Transitioning to 2nd Shift within a few months

• Anticipated 2nd Shift schedule: 1:00 PM–11:30 PM, Monday–Thursday, with some flexibility based on business needs

Responsibilities

• Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Systems (CMS), including laser scanners and CMM equipment.
• Perform optical and dimensional inspections using engineering drawings, CAD models, and CATIA data.
• Create and maintain inspection reports tied directly to engineering drawings and 3D models.
• Utilize CMS inspection data to support First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), including AS9102 Form 3.
• Develop and coordinate part inspection plans with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams.
• Perform First Article Inspections, final product inspections, and other quality inspections as required.
• Support manufacturing operations by identifying quality concerns and helping reduce internal scrap.
• Read and interpret complex 2D aerospace engineering drawings and specifications.
• Interpret and apply GD&T requirements in accordance with ASME Y14.5.
• Work with Digital Product Definition (DPD) requirements in accordance with ASME Y14.41.
• Interrogate CAD models and engineering data to determine product conformance.
• Utilize precision measuring tools, gauges, hand inspection tools, and surface plates.
• Maintain CMS and inspection equipment.
• Support and provide guidance or training to other quality personnel as needed.
• Maintain compliance with company quality procedures and the Quality Management System.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of Aerospace Quality Assurance experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of CMS programming experience preferred.
• Experience programming and operating CMM and/or laser scanning equipment.
• Strong knowledge of aerospace inspection processes and dimensional inspection.
• Fluency in ASME Y14.5 and GD&T.
• Working knowledge of ASME Y14.41 and Digital Product Definition (DPD).
• Strong understanding of AS9100 and AS9102 requirements.
• Knowledge of Boeing quality and engineering documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret aerospace engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience with CATIA V5, SOLIDWORKS, or other CAD/modeling software preferred.
• Experience with PolyWorks or similar CMS/CMM software preferred.
• Familiarity with software such as PolyWorks, CMM Manager, Verisurf, or PC-DMIS is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and other departments.

Education

• Vocational training, technical coursework, or equivalent experience in CAD modeling, Quality Assurance, or a related field preferred.
• Technical coursework in blueprint reading and AS9100 manufacturing applications is highly preferred.

Working Environment

• Manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels.
• Exposure to chemicals, dust, fumes, noise, and varying temperatures.
• Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment in designated areas.
