DESCRIPTION

Under the general supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, the Outpatient Pharmacy Technician II/III performs a full range of duties in a retail pharmacy setting and able to perform all general tasks in all areas of the pharmacy. They will assist the pharmacist in preparation of medications for patient use according to established procedures; facilitates in the distribution of medications including delivery of medications to the patient's bedside (Med-2-Bed program); performs computer order entry, record keeping, and billing functions; maintains inventory levels; and performs other duties as assigned. Will perform assigned operational duties in a scheduled area and will assist pharmacists in completing medication orders and related distribution duties in different pharmacy areas.

Depending on experience and licensure of the selected candidate, this position will be hired at the Pharmacy Tech level II or level III.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required for Pharmacy Tech III.

• Pharmacy Technician License issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy required for both Pharmacy Tech II/III.

• Minimum of two (2) years for Pharmacy Tech II of retail experience is required.

• Minimum of five (5) years for Pharmacy Tech III of retail experience is required.

• Thorough knowledge of pharmacy terminology and calculations.

• Proficient computer experience and accurate data entry skills.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

• Two (2) years of experience working in an HIV/AIDS care or specialty pharmacy

• Experience with HIV/AIDS medications, including billing copay cards, leveraging Patient Access Programs, and other copay support programs, when applicable

• Experience using an adherence packaging machine.

• At least 4 years experience with medication ordering and inventory management or equivalent.

• 340b regulatory knowledge and background.

• Flexible to address any pharmacy need that may arise, especially those that are unexpected or sudden.

• Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $54,998 - $68,403 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $26.34 - $32.76
