Shipping Clerk

This position is responsible for preparing items for shipment, keeping records on outgoing shipments, and delivering shipments to local customers. Hourly Range: $20.00 - $22.00 hourly, depending upon experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Determines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates. Navigates FedEx and UPS systems. Packages product to be shipped to customer. Affixes shipping labels on outgoing packages. Interacts with carriers for incoming and outgoing product. Ensures packing slips have the correct product, quantity, and address. May need to operate fork‑lift to move pellets in the warehouse area. Is consistently at work and on time. Must adhere to company specified work schedule. Operates facility vehicle to deliver shipments to local customers. (A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required.) Minimum of 1 year experience working in a warehouse environment, to include performing customer deliveries. A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required. Language Skills Proficiency reading, writing, and speaking English to satisfactorily perform the duties of the position. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions. Computer Skills Must have basic skills using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Physical Demands The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee is frequently required to walk and stand. The employee frequently is required to use hands to reach, handle or feel objects. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle to deliver customer orders, determine routes, and perform related duties such as running errands and deliveries. Must be able to follow traffic laws and regulations, maintain vehicle safety, and operate in various environmental conditions.
