Junior Systems Administrator

As an Jr. Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the setup, maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, servers, networks, and endpoints. You will be the escalation point of support for the helpdesk team and be the subject matter knowledge expert in several areas of information technology. Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain and administer Windows servers, virtual infrastructure, storage/SAN, and network components. Perform advanced troubleshooting across endpoint, network, and server layers. Manage Azure and cloud workloads including Entra ID, IaaS, networking, and Power Platform support. Plan and manage system upgrades and lifecycle. Own documentation for systems, infrastructure, SOPs. Execute proactive maintenance activities. Manage security controls across endpoints, networks, cloud, and identity. Serve as first Admin level escalation for support team. Support D365, CRM, WMS, and other operational platforms. Mentor lower-tier technicians and help shape IT standards. Travel to remote facilities alone or as a team. Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field. Experience in Windows Server/Client, Active Directory, and Group Policy. Familiarity with administering Office 365, email filtering, and Entra ID Preferred, but not required knowledge of the following technologies: Powershell Meraki Cloud HyperV Storage/SAN Routing and switching Strong research skills to solve problems and propose new solutions Ability to communicate effectively with end users and management Ability to stay current with IT trends, while learning and implementing new technology Organizational Relationship: This individual reports to the Associate Director of Infrastructure and Operations and works closely with a variety of departments throughout the company. Travel & Location Requirements: Work is primarily based in an office setting in Melvindale, Michigan. Work is generally completed on a regularly scheduled basis, however, attendance at meetings or completion of work outside of normal scheduled hours may be required. Extended periods of concentration and sedentary work are required. Work is subject to frequent interruptions and normal office noise.
