Tableau Consultant

Tableau Developer – 12+ month contract – Plano, TX (Hybrid) Must be SR LEVEL in Tableau (SQL, LOD expressions and experience with Tableau embedded work). Responsibilities: Design, develop and maintain visual analysis tools, dashboards and reports for marketing stakeholders in Tableau, collaborating closely with back-end data engineers. Lead end-to-end development, creating complex calculations including LOD expressions, action filters, user filters, and implementing advanced dashboard practices. Demonstrate and implement Tableau capabilities such as multi-source dashboards, data blending, table calculations, advanced calculated fields, customized visuals, and user attribute functions. Identify data quality issues and support overall data governance with the IT Cx team. Support ad-hoc analytics needs by delivering solutions and assisting data interpretation. Troubleshoot underlying data ecosystems, perform root‑cause analysis for dashboard or report errors. Communicate project status, risks, dependencies and roadblocks for both technical audiences and business stakeholders. Explore opportunities to increase efficiency of underlying data sources by optimizing SQL and leveraging Tableau blending. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, mathematics, computer science, or statistics with significant quantitative coursework. 5+ years of experience building data visualizations in Tableau. 5+ years of experience using relational databases and writing custom SQL queries. Intermediate level experience in data analysis and reporting. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Experience working in large, evolving data ecosystems. Strong communication skills, acting as liaison between technical and non‑technical teams. Preferred: Intermediate experience with Alteryx. Advanced experience with querying data (e.g., SQL Server). Experience with Embedded Analytics via Tableau. Experience implementing Row Level Security in Tableau.
