Registered Telemetry Unit Nurse | Pineville, Louisiana

Skilled registered nurses with a strong background in telemetry are needed for night shifts on a contract basis. This opportunity offers the chance to provide essential care to patients with MI, CHF, arrhythmias, PVD, and some med surg overflow in a setting that frequently manages cardiac drips (excluding nitrates). The department promotes autonomy, ongoing skill development, and collaborative practice.


Schedule:

• Night shifts: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities

Qualifications:

• Active RN license in state of employment or compact
• BLS and ACLS certification (AHA required)
• Minimum one year of recent experience in telemetry or a related nursing specialty preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Ability to manage nurse/patient ratios of 5:1, occasionally up to 6:1
• Commitment to attend New Nurses Orientation within 30 days of hire (for newly hired experienced RNs)
• Willingness to float to other units as needed

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive patient care utilizing the full nursing process
• Assess physiological, psychological, emotional, and cultural needs of patients and families
• Administer and monitor cardiac and other specialty drips per protocol
• Document patient histories, symptoms, medications, and interventions accurately
• Provide education to patients, families, and caregivers as needed
• Collaborate with healthcare team members and participate in competency and residency programs as required
• Maintain regulatory, organizational, and annual competency standards
