Pastry Sous Chef Upscale High Volume

Overview An established full-service scratch catering company in the NW suburbs is searching for a Pastry Sous Chef. The candidate should have a background in scratch pastry with a strong ability to decorate and create, and participate in R&D opportunities. Leadership is key, as the role will be responsible for a team of 6–7 employees with a strong opportunity for advancement. Primarily days with a 3:00 pm finish, with some nights and weekends. Excellent ownership and leadership team, paid benefits, vacation, and 401(k) with a match. Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus. Responsibilities Lead a team of 6–7 pastry staff. Prepare scratch pastries, decorate, and develop new products; contribute to R&D opportunities. Maintain quality standards and production workflow in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications Background in scratch pastry. Strong decorating and creative abilities. Leadership experience with the ability to manage a team. Spanish language skills are a plus. Schedule Primarily daytime shifts with a 3:00 pm finish; some nights and weekends may be required. Compensation & Benefits Salary: $70,000–$80,000 per year.
