Overview
Registered Nurse - First Assist (RNFA) travel assignment in Rochester, New York. This role supports DaVinci robotic procedures in the operating room. Start date July 6, 2026 for a 13-week assignment. Weekly pay range of $2,833 to $2,950. Guaranteed hours: 0.0 per week. Shift includes 12-hour days, with on-call responsibilities through 11:00 PM as needed by the unit; no weekends or holidays unless unit needs arise. Setting: hospital-based operating room.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the surgeon and perioperative team to perform safe procedures with optimal patient outcomes as the RN First Assistant
- Provide RNFA duties during the operative phase, in alignment with the surgeon’s direction and institutional protocols
- Perform scrub and/or circulating duties as required, maintaining sterile technique and instrument counts
- Support robotic-assisted procedures using DaVinci technology; ensure patient safety and intraoperative monitoring
- Contribute to perioperative nursing practice with knowledge, skill, and judgment specific to the RNFA role
- When not assigned to RNFA activities, function in standard OR staff RN duties as needed

Requirements
- Active New York RN license
- CNOR certification
- Completion of an accredited RN First Assistant program
- DaVinci robotic surgery experience required, with exposure in robotic urology, robotic gynecology, robotic colorectal, robotic surgical oncology (e.g., Whipple, gastrectomies, hernias), robotic thoracic, and robotic general surgery (e.g., cholecystectomy, appendectomy)
- Minimum 2 years OR nursing experience; Level 1 trauma experience preferred
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
- Ability to scrub and circulate; strong perioperative nursing knowledge
