The purpose of this role is to lead the design and analysis of structural components in high‑voltage and medium‑voltage substations. Location: Hybrid (Raleigh, NC) Responsibilities Lead the design and analysis of structural components in high‑voltage and medium‑voltage substations, including foundations, support structures, bus structures, and control buildings. Ensure all designs adhere to national and international building codes, electrical industry standards, and safety regulations relevant to high‑voltage substations. Perform detailed engineering calculations (load analysis, seismic analysis, wind loading, foundation design) to ensure structural integrity. Continuously seek opportunities to optimize substation designs, considering cost‑effectiveness, constructability, and long‑term performance. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate projects, ensuring timely delivery, and providing technical support during construction and commissioning phases. Offer technical expertise and guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders on structural matters related to high‑voltage substations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Professional Engineer (PE) license required. Minimum of 7 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on high‑voltage substations. Proficient in structural analysis software such as ETABS, L‑Pile, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, etc. Solid understanding of national and international building codes and industry standards related to substations (e.g., IEEE, IEC, ASCE, NESC). Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented environment. Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Proven project management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
