Senior Mechanical Engineer

DescriptionKforce's client in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of complex building systems projects across a diverse portfolio of commercial and institutional facilities. This role offers the opportunity to provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to high-impact projects from concept through construction.Responsibilities:* Lead mechanical engineering and HVAC system design from planning through construction administration* Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, and construction documents* Coordinate with architects, engineers, and project managers to deliver integrated solutions* Perform quality reviews and ensure technical accuracy of project deliverables* Conduct field observations and site visits to support project execution* Develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges* Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations* Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance* Manage discipline-specific schedules, deliverables, and project milestones* Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders* Support client engagement and business development activities as neededRequirements* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program* Active Professional Engineer (PE) license* 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience within the building design industry* Experience leading mechanical design efforts for commercial building projects* Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, building design, and construction documentation* Experience reviewing technical work and mentoring engineering staff* Excellent communication and client relationship skills* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.* Visa sponsorship is not available for this positionPreferred Experience:* Proficiency with Revit* Experience supporting business development efforts and client presentations* Project experience involving aviation, healthcare, federal, industrial, workplace, warehouse/distribution, or other commercial facilities* Experience leading engineering staff or project teams* Willingness to travel occasionally for project and client needsJob TypeDirect HireCompensation135000 - $155000
