Job Description The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. The RN uses the nursing process, technology, therapeutic interventions, evidence-based practice, and coordination of care with other health team members. About the iFlex RN Role The iFlex RN is part of Intermountain’s internal travel agency, supporting multiple sites across our network. This role requires adaptability and a strong commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care. You deliver nursing care across various units, work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, and ensure optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Assess the physical, psychological, and social status of patients, including developmental and cognitive abilities. Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to direct and coordinate care. Develop individualized care plans based on assessment data and clinical judgment. Provide or delegate patient care in accordance with care plans, guidelines, and licensure. Prepare patients for discharge, including education, referrals, and follow-up care. Evaluate patient responses and adapt interventions accordingly. Maintain compliance with legal and ethical standards and document care accurately. Typical Admissions Medical-Surgical Cardiac / Heart Failure Orthopedic / Joint Replacement Trauma Oncology General Surgery / Post-Op Patients Women’s Services (Labor & Delivery / Postpartum) Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay in line with local and national travel RN rates. Pay rates are reviewed quarterly and adjusted based on market trends; each assignment has a consistent pay rate. For assignments more than 50 miles from the employee’s home, a pro-rated monthly housing reimbursement will be provided. Employees are responsible for securing their own housing during each travel assignment. Posting Specifics Shift details: Variable shifts. Schedule: Full-time hours during a 3-month assignment; 2–3 assignments per calendar year required. Pay rate: $58-$65/hour flat rate, based on location and specialty (adjusted quarterly). Minimum Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent ICU or Med/Surg experience. Current RN license in the state of practice. Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. Travel Requirements Expected to fill shifts at Lutheran Hospital. iFlex RNs may float to other facilities if needed. All iFlex employees are expected to accept assignments in any Intermountain region and work at any Intermountain facility, including locations in Utah, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, and Nevada. Physical and Functional Requirements Ability to see and read information, labels, and assess patient needs; operate monitors and identify equipment and supplies. Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors requiring clear verbal communication and quick comprehension, especially during emergency situations. Manual dexterity for manipulating complex and delicate equipment accurately, plus frequent computer use and typing for documentation, medication preparation, and information access. Ability to lift, transfer patients, and handle supplies and equipment ranging from light to heavy items. Capacity to walk, assist with transporting patients, and maneuver gurneys and portable equipment, often in crowded or busy rooms. Potential to stand in a stationary position for extended periods.
