Safety Professional – Semiconductor Construction
We’re looking for a Safety Professional with hands-on construction safety experience to support a large-scale semiconductor construction project.
This is a field-focused role for someone who can identify hazards, communicate effectively with contractors and crews, support corrective actions, and help the team keep work moving safely. The right person understands that safety is about more than enforcement. It’s about working with the team to find practical solutions that protect people while supporting the job.
What You’ll Do- Provide day-to-day safety support on an active semiconductor construction site.
- Conduct regular jobsite inspections, safety audits, and JHAs/JSAs to identify hazards and support corrective actions.
- Help ensure construction activities comply with OSHA regulations, site requirements, and established safety procedures.
- Work closely with general contractors, subcontractors, superintendents, project managers, and field teams to address safety concerns and develop practical solutions.
- Monitor construction activities including steel erection, concrete, electrical, mechanical, piping, welding, rigging, excavation, elevated work, and equipment operations.
- Lead or support safety orientations, toolbox talks, pre-task planning, and safety training.
- Identify unsafe or high-risk conditions and stop or escalate work when necessary to protect workers.
- Work with the team to develop corrective actions that address safety concerns while allowing work to continue safely.
- Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses and assist with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Monitor safety trends and help identify opportunities to reduce incidents and improve site safety.
- Support the development, modification, and maintenance of safety programs and procedures under the direction of the project safety team.
- Assist with developing safety documentation and programs when a Safety Manager is not assigned to the site.
- Maintain safety records, inspection reports, training documentation, incident reports, and other required compliance documentation.
- Monitor subcontractor safety performance and follow up on corrective actions.
- Communicate and coordinate with other safety professionals and safety teams on the jobsite to maintain open communication and effective working relationships.
- Support emergency response planning and participate in drills and incident response when needed.
- Provide safety guidance and support to project leadership, field teams, contractors, and other safety personnel.
- Help promote a strong safety culture through communication, awareness, and teamwork.
- 2–5+ years of safety experience in construction, preferably in semiconductor, high-purity, advanced manufacturing, or similarly complex project environments.
- Hands-on experience working on active construction jobsites.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction standards and regulations.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required.
- OSHA 500 or OSHA 510 certification preferred.
- Candidates who are willing to obtain OSHA 510 within 30 days after enrollment may also be considered.
- Experience conducting jobsite inspections, JHAs/JSAs, toolbox talks, safety orientations, and incident investigations.
- Experience working directly with subcontractors, contractors, and construction crews.
- Strong understanding of construction hazards, including fall protection, electrical safety, confined spaces, lockout/tagout, hot work, excavation, scaffolding, rigging, and PPE.
- Ability to recognize high-risk conditions and take appropriate action.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain open and productive relationships with field teams.
- Solution-oriented approach to addressing safety concerns and corrective actions.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while also supporting and collaborating with the broader safety and project team.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment.
- CHST, CSP, ASP, or equivalent safety certification.
- Experience with semiconductor fabs, cleanrooms, high-purity environments, or other high-tech manufacturing facilities.
- Experience supporting large-scale construction projects involving multiple contractors and subcontractors.
- Experience developing or supporting safety programs and procedures.
- Familiarity with NFPA, ANSI, and other applicable safety standards .
- Experience with EHS or safety reporting software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish or English and Mandarin Chinese .
- Experience working with major semiconductor manufacturers or similarly complex industrial projects.
This is an active construction environment where you’ll spend significant time in the field working around construction equipment, electrical and mechanical systems, elevated work, and other jobsite hazards.
You should be comfortable walking and standing throughout the site, working directly with field personnel and subcontractors, wearing required PPE, and following site-specific safety requirements.

The ideal candidate can recognize when work needs to stop because of a serious or immediate hazard, while also working collaboratively with the team to identify corrective actions and practical ways to continue the job safely.
