Blood Bank Lab Supervisor - $10,000.00 SIGN ON BONUS

LabCorp is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor to join our Blood Bank team at Ascension St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN.

Work Schedule: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Hours may change based on business needs or at the request of management.

Job Responsibilities:

• Supervise theday to dayoperations of the blood bank laboratory

• Ensure laboratory tests are accuratelyperformedand results are reportedin a timely manner

• Directly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel of the department

• Monitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate assay coverage

• Responsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffed

• Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary

• Engage in continuous process and service level improvements

• Ensure all equipment is being properlymaintainedthrough Quality Control

• Prepare andmaintainQuality Assurance records and documents

• Evaluate new process improvements and makeappropriate recommendations

• Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development

• Perform bench work as needed andmaintainproficiency/competency in technical operations

• Ensure all work isin accordance withstate and Federal regulations

• Responsible for administering and managing policies and procedures

• Process andmaintainpayroll and personnel files, and administrative duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology

• 5 or more years of experience as a blood bankTechnologist/Technician

• TN Supervisor License must be obtained within 30 days of hire

• ​4 or more years of experience supervising or leading a team

Preferred Qualifications:

• ASCP or AMT certification

Additional Job Standards:

• In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirement

• Strong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP and relevant state regulations

• Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures

• Proficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office

• Strong communicationskills; both written and verbal

• High levelof attention to detail with strong organizational skills

• Comfortability making decisions in a changing environment

• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position

• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
