We are seeking a visionary and dynamic Hospital Director of Operations (HD) to lead one of our flagship veterinary hospitals with the insight and strategic mindset of a Chief Financial Officer. Responsible for overseeing a $60M+ P&L, this individual will drive operational excellence, inspire teams, and ensure long-term financial sustainability at a large, multi-specialty veterinary hospital. Qualifications Experience: 10+ years of senior leadership experience in large healthcare systems or multi-site big box retail. Skills: Deep expertise in financial management, enterprise-level strategic planning, complex team leadership, and operational excellence; paired with a forward-thinking approach to innovation and organizational growth. Ideal Background: Proven track record of leading complex hospital operations, developing and executing talent strategies, and fostering a culture of engagement and accountability—driving cross-functional collaboration and delivering sustained EBITDA growth and operational excellence in high-performing environments and those undergoing transformation / in need of renewed strategy. Education: Advanced degree is strongly preferred; MHA/MBA. Serve as the hospital’s financial steward—overseeing budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cost-efficiency initiatives. Act like an owner in ensuring regulatory compliance and upholding the highest standards of financial integrity. Lead scenario planning to navigate ambiguity and ensure sustainable growth within the hospital. Transform – Operational Excellence & Innovation Champion innovation by implementing scalable, cutting-edge operational strategies across the hospital. Optimize workflow efficiency and drive data-informed performance improvements. Accountable for driving exceptional client and patient experiences by leading management teams and staff to consistently deliver high-quality care and service, thereby enhancing organizational reputation and ensuring positive patient outcomes. Continuously challenge the status quo to deliver breakthrough results in a complex hospital setting. Engage – Stakeholder Collaboration Build meaningful, cross-functional partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including hospital teams, referring veterinarians, support center colleagues, clients, and community leaders.
