About the Role
The Company is seeking a Senior Vice President of Advancement to join its Executive Leadership Team. This strategic partner will work closely with the President & CEO and the Board of Trustees to advance the organization's philanthropic goals. The role is focused on leading the comprehensive advancement team, with a clear emphasis on expanding and strengthening the major gifts program. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a major gifts strategy, personally managing a portfolio of high-capacity donors, and leading the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of transformational gifts. They will also be instrumental in building and strengthening a sustainable pipeline of major gift prospects and will serve as a visible ambassador for the organization, fostering relationships that increase awareness and philanthropic investment. Key responsibilities for the Senior Vice President of Advancement include organizational advancement leadership, executive and board partnership, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in major gifts fundraising, a proven track record of securing six-figure gifts, and at least five years of senior leadership experience. They should have a keen understanding of how various advancement functions can be strategically leveraged to support fundraising and be adept at managing a team to ensure the achievement of annual objectives. The role requires a leader with exceptional communication, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills, who is committed to the values of the organization and can effectively represent it externally. A CFRE credential is preferred, and the candidate should be prepared to work in a dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
