• n to join our team at a skilled nursing facility in Delmar, NY.

• n \n \n Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Skills and Qualifications:
• n \n \n Successful completion of the academic requirements of an educational program for the occupational therapy assistant recognized by the Board of Occupational Therapy Practice. Such program shall be accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association’s Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education, or its successor
• n \n Must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice as an occupational therapy assistant in the state of New York
• n \n Prior experience in Occupational Therapy, preferred
• n \n Member of state and national American Occupational Therapy Association, preferred
• n \n Professional attitude and appearance
• n \n Proficient administrative and public relations skills
• n \n Thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, materials and equipment used in occupational therapy
• n \n Thorough knowledge of the possible hazards to patients during treatment and necessary precautionary and remedial measures
• n \n Training in the use of prescriptive devices (electrical stimulation, ultrasound), preferred
• n \n Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and to obtain their cooperation in the treatment prescribed
• n \n Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the medical staff and other personnel
• n \n Demonstrate emotional stability in order to cope with the demands of both patients and employees
• n \n Must maintain patient and employee confidentiality
