Shipping Supervisor – Decatur, AL – $24.00–$28.00/hr
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Shipping Supervisor for our client in Decatur, AL. You will oversee daily shipping operations, lead a small team, coordinate shipments with production schedules, and ensure accurate, timely, and damage-free deliveries. Responsibilities
- Coordinate shipping and production schedules to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Oversee outbound shipments, including order fulfillment, packaging, labeling, loading, and shipping documentation.
- Supervise, train, and mentor employees while managing performance and resolving team conflicts.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers, monitor delivery performance, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Review and approve daily labor reports, ensuring accurate work orders and hours.
- Maintain accurate computer records, paperwork, and bills of lading.
- Identify opportunities to improve shipping efficiency, material flow, and processes using Lean and 5S methods.
- Read and interpret drawings, follow work instructions, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following quality and safety procedures.
Requirements
- Associate degree in manufacturing, operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing shipping supervision experience.
- Strong knowledge of shipping operations, truck scheduling, loading procedures, material handling, and bills of lading.
- Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and communicate effectively in English.
- Must pass a background check, drug screen, and measurement test.
- Must have steel-toed boots.
Schedule & Pay
- Shift: Monday–Friday, 9:30 AM–7:00 PM
- Pay: $24.00–$28.00/hr, based on experience.
- Employment: Temp-to-hire opportunity.
