PHARMACY BENEFITS SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Location: The Colony, TX | Onsite

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE

• $22 per hour

• Full-time, 8-hour shift scheduled between 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. CST

• Weekend/Holiday rotations required

As a Pharmacy Benefits Support Specialist , you’ll help patients and pharmacy partners navigate prescription benefits, resolve claim issues, and understand their coverage so they can get the medications they need.

You’ll be a trusted resource for patients across phone, email, and chat while building valuable experience in pharmacy benefits, prior authorizations, insurance verification, and healthcare support.

Key Responsibilities

• Be the go-to resource for patients and pharmacy partners with prescription benefit and coverage questions

• Research and resolve prescription claim issues, insurance questions, and coverage inquiries

• Assist with prior authorizations and benefits-related requests while maintaining accurate documentation

• Clearly explain pharmacy benefits, coverage information, and next steps in an easy-to-understand way

• Deliver friendly, professional support across phone, email, and chat

• Troubleshoot issues and escalate complex or sensitive cases to the appropriate internal teams

Licenses & Certifications

• Active Pharmacy Technician (Pharm Tech) license required

• High School Diploma or GED required

• PTCB or ExCPT certification is a plus — if you’re not already certified, you’ll have 6 months after hire to obtain it

Clinical Skill Set

• Pharmacy benefits support and insurance verification

• Prescription claim review and problem resolution

• Prior authorization processing

• Healthcare documentation and case management systems

• HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards

• Multichannel patient communication (phone, email, chat)

Preferred Skills

• Experience with pharmacy benefits, insurance verification, healthcare claims, or patient support

• Familiarity with CRM, ticketing, or case management systems

• Bilingual communication skills are a plus

• Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills
