Sr Business Insights Analyst (Property Claims)

The Property Claims Business Intelligence Analyst analyzes and recommends technical solutions for complex projects to meet the needs of Claims and other impacted business areas. Will be responsible for defining and delivering the BI Strategy and ensuring the successful delivery of Business Intelligence Solutions and Executive / Operational dashboards. The BI analyst will be a motivated self‑starter building strong relationships with the business, IT and BI teams. Responsibilities Act as the customer / IT liaison during analysis, requirements definition and design activities; develop and maintain an understanding of the business, business strategies and roadmap; collaborate with business stakeholders to define and document business requirements and with technical staff to develop solution alternatives. Ensure that the project and service delivery teams and the business representatives have a clear expectation of reporting deliverables including priorities and timescales. Support data processing activities to maintain, enhance, and implement effective and efficient solutions that meet business requirements. Assist in identifying and acquiring relevant data from external sources (e.g., XACT, DXC, Kwikwork) and guide integration into internal systems as part of corporate initiatives such as system integrations, business acquisitions, and assumptions. Participate in data validation and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure data accuracy and alignment with business requirements. Collaborate with technical teams to clarify data needs and review outputs for quality and accuracy before delivery to customers. Provide support for business applications and data access needs, manage user access to reporting platforms (e.g., DWH), identify, research, and escalating data issues to appropriate technical teams. Train others on the use of automated reports and support knowledge transfer during handoffs. Collect data from various sources, analyze data, identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, and prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing findings and providing actionable recommendations. Requirements 4+ years of business intelligence and analytics experience. 3+ years of insurance claims experience. 3+ years of direct client engagement and providing user insights directly to leadership. 3+ years of Business Intelligence Metrics & Reporting experience using Power BI. Strong MS SQL experience – required for query, profiling and testing. Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Access. Experience with Data Warehousing/Data Marts. Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business, or related field. Some overnight travel to client or other locations may be required. Additional Skills / Experience Effective communication skills, both oral and written, to management, team members, business and technology professionals. Ability to work within tight time constraints on multiple complex risk projects or portions of higher risk projects. Ability to collect, organize and process complex data and information from multiple sources, verify accuracy, and develop logic and relationships. Ability to plan daily work activities to maintain a high level of personal productivity. Understanding of customer’s business environment and providing appropriate solutions. Work with BI team to develop technical solutions and implement ongoing business objectives consistent with the organization’s data analysis strategy. Commitment to quality of data maintained, as it supports key enterprise strategy of claims management. Effective interaction with all levels of internal and external personnel to develop efficient specifications that meet customer requirements.
