Position: Floor Manager Sonia’s Seafood – Miami, FL Reports To: General Manager / Assistant Manager Position Summary The Floor Manager is responsible for leading the restaurant during assigned shifts and directly overseeing all team members on duty. This role ensures the shift runs smoothly, the team is executing properly, guests are taken care of, and all service, cleanliness, and operational standards are maintained. The Floor Manager is the shift leader on duty and is expected to remain engaged in the operation at all times, support the team where needed, and hold the staff accountable during service. This is a hands‑on leadership role. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead all team members on duty during the shift Direct restaurant operations during service and ensure strong shift execution Support both FOH and BOH as needed to keep operations running effectively Monitor service flow, urgency, communication, and guest experience Ensure the restaurant is ready for service and remains organized throughout the shift Help manage opening, transition, and closing duties Team Oversight & Accountability Supervise team members during the shift and hold them accountable to standards Ensure all employees are in proper uniform and meet grooming and appearance expectations Reinforce service standards, cleanliness, pace, and professionalism Assist with training and coaching team members during the shift Communicate issues, concerns, and performance gaps to upper management as needed Guest Experience Ensure guests receive fast, friendly, and accurate service Be visible and available on the floor during service Address guest concerns and service issues quickly and professionally Support the team in maintaining a welcoming and responsive atmosphere Monitor dining room and outdoor guest areas to ensure cleanliness and attentiveness Ensure food is handled, served, and presented according to company standards Support proper handling, storage, and awareness around seafood and perishable products Reinforce sanitation, hygiene, labeling, holding, and safe food handling practices during the shift Watch for cleanliness, cross-contamination risks, and unsafe practices and correct them immediately Cleanliness, Readiness & Organization Ensure dining room, kitchen, restrooms, service stations, and outdoor areas remain clean and organized Verify side work and shift duties are completed properly Keep service areas stocked and operational throughout the shift Maintain a guest‑ready and inspection‑ready environment Operational Focus Team accountability Service flow and urgency Cleanliness and readiness Food safety awareness Performance Expectations Lead organized, effective shifts with strong team execution Maintain a clean, safe, and well‑managed environment Ensure guests receive strong service during the shift Keep the team engaged, productive, and accountable Support strong communication and teamwork across departments Qualifications Leadership, Supervisor, or Shift Lead experience preferred Strong communication and people skills Ability to stay organized and make decisions in a fast‑paced environment Experience in seafood or high‑volume restaurant environments is a plus Language Requirements Spanish required Schedule & Availability Full‑time or part‑time based on business needs Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays Must be available for opening, mid, and closing shifts Ability to work 8–10+ hour shifts as needed Compensation & Growth Pay based on experience Growth opportunities may be available within the company Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 8–10+ hours Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs Ability to bend, squat, reach, twist, and move quickly throughout the shift Indoor and outdoor working areas Exposure to hot, cold, wet, slippery, and humid conditions Exposure to raw seafood, kitchen equipment, knives, and cleaning chemicals May be required to support service in outdoor guest areas Standards & Compliance Must follow all company policies, procedures, and shift standards Must comply with health, sanitation, and safety requirements Must maintain proper hygiene, food handling, and workplace safety practices Must help enforce company standards during assigned shifts Additional Requirements Strong attendance, punctuality, and reliability required Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Must be comfortable handling and working around raw seafood Must be able to actively lead the shift and support operations at all times Must maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude #J-18808-Ljbffr
