Cost Accountant

Cost AccountantWe are searching for a Cost Accountant who will work closely with the Site Controller in providing accounting support for cost accounting, forecasting, margin reviews and fluctuation analysis, and SOX controls. The Cost Accountant will also assist with general ledger transactions and account reconciliations. This individual must have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced office environment.Perform reporting activities throughout the month on margins, absorption and other metrics to ensure accuracy of the financialsPrepare fluctuation and variance analysisAssist with forecastingAnalyze production and operational costs, identifying variances and trends (FOH, VOH)Prepare cost reports for managementSupport inventory valuation, cycle counts, and audits – understand the mechanics of WIP, E&O, Finished Goods, and inventory turns.Partner with operations, supply chain, HR, and sales on accounting mattersPrepare journal entries and account reconciliations required for the monthly closeEnsure proper classification of expenses and adherence to accounting policiesComplete monthly consolidation load (trial balance, supplemental forms, etc.)Prepare audit schedules and support external auditorsEnsure compliance with SOX or internal control requirementsSupport system implementations or upgradesComfortable interacting with operations and translating financial performance to operational insightPrepare ad hoc analysisIdentify opportunities to streamline accounting workflowsAdditional Staff Accounting duties, as assigned.Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent combination of education and experience.3+ years' experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environmentProficient with the use of ERP systems (EPICOR is highly preferred)Proficient with the use of Power BI, Tableau, and other data analysis toolsProficient in Microsoft Office programsMust be US person- US Citizen or Permanent resident
