As a Produce & Floral Team Lead , you will play a crucial role in bringing our mission to life by supporting the Produce & Floral Department Manager. You'll help lead your team with care and focus, ensuring every guest is welcomed and the department shines. You'll work closely with your team and manager, coaching and cultivating their growth while celebrating their achievements. Your problem-solving skills will keep operations running smoothly, and you’ll step in to manage when needed. This role reports directly to the Produce & Floral Department Manager and fosters a culture of leadership, hospitality, excellence, and teamwork. The pay range for this position is $18.74 - $20.33 per hour. What You’ll Do: Support labor schedule management to achieve productivity and budget objectives Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels and help minimize shrink while supporting ordering processes Act as a key resource for team members, offering guidance in the absence of management Demonstrate and encourage exemplary hospitality practices by engaging guests and creating positive experiences Collaborate on merchandising strategies and promotional plans to boost sales and profitability Help analyze financial and performance metrics for the department Work together with fellow department leaders to enhance overall store success Utilize technology effectively to complete these tasks Availability: This role requires flexibility, including availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays. Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: 1+ years of progressive management experience in supermarkets, retail, restaurants, hotels, or similar fields Strong leadership abilities to motivate and cultivate high-performing teams Ability to create exceptional guest experiences while reaching performance targets Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Basic proficiency with POS systems, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite Must be at least 21 years of age Preferred Qualifications: Associate's degree in business, retail management, or related field, or equivalent experience Experience in grocery, fresh food retail, hospitality, or high-volume specialty retail environments Familiarity with inventory management systems and financial reporting Bilingual skills are a plus Physical and Work Conditions: Repetitive hand/arm movements, bending, reaching, and the ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds independently; may be exposed to extreme temperatures Must be able to use various tools and equipment, including knives, ladders, step stools, box cutters, and pallet jacks Required to remain on feet for extended periods, standing or walking for up to 4 hours or as required by law Must wear approved headgear and personal protective equipment We are an Equal Opportunity Employer: The Fresh Market is dedicated to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace.
