Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring Extrusion Operators for a leading supplier in the fishing industry located in Spirit Lake, IA. In this role, you’ll help keep extrusion lines running smoothly, support consistent product quality, and work with a dedicated and experienced production team. If you enjoy hands-on, mechanical work and want a dependable overnight schedule with weekly pay, this could be a great opportunity for you.

What You’ll Do as an Extrusion Operator:

• Monitor extruders to ensure continuous operation
• Perform mixing, equipment setup, and accurate machine adjustments
• Maintain logs on temperatures, settings, and machine conditions
• Remove full spools and load empty ones on take-up equipment
• Inspect lines for roughness, correct diameter, elongation, and overall quality
• Monitor winding and tension levels on all spools
• Perform die, braid, color, and material changeovers
• Record material usage and scrap quantities
• Complete preventative maintenance on production equipment
• Disassemble and reassemble die packs as needed

What You Need to Bring to the Extrusion Operator Role:

• High school diploma/GED OR 6–12 months related experience/training
• Strong mechanical aptitude with good hand dexterity and coordination
• Ability to follow recipes/data to produce quality monofilament
• Ability to handle 5–50 lb spools and move 200 lb containers using a barrel cart (with or without reasonable accommodations)
• Good judgment and focus on safety while maximizing production yield
