Here at Fairview, we are now seeking a Radiation Therapist to join our Radiation Oncology Clinic team! This is a casual position that will provide coverage across multiple sites, supporting staff as needed. This position requires adaptability and a strong commitment to maintaining high-quality patient care across various locations, including:

• M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center-East Bank
• M Health Fairview Clinics and Surgery Center - Maple Grove
• M Health Fairview Woodwinds Hospital
• M Health Fairview St. John's Hospital

The Radiation Therapist is responsible for delivering precise and efficient ionizing radiation therapy treatments as determined by the Radiation Oncologist. This position administers prescribed doses of radiation to specific body parts, using radiation therapy equipment according to established practices and standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and constructs equipment such as immobilization devices as needed or prescribed by the physician
• Prepares and educates patients and families for simulation and treatment
• Observes and reassures patients during treatment and report unusual reactions to physician or turn equipment off if unexpected adverse reactions occur
• Operates specified equipment within the radiation therapy department. Records and verifies computer system, and IGRT and Portal vision system
• Positions patients for treatment with accuracy according to prescription. Reviews prescription, diagnosis, patient chart, and identification of patient

Required Qualifications

• ARRT registration in radiation therapy or be board eligible by completing the appropriate school of radiation therapy and completing registration within three months of hire
• BLS certification
• Excellent patient relations skills
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

An individual's pay rate within the posted range may be determined by various factors, including skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization prioritizes pay equity and considers internal team equity when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical.
