Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Patient ratio experience of 1:6 Description: This position requires working the PM shift every other weekend. Staff will participate in a holiday rotation and must work during the designated holidays. Staff members are assigned to groups for self-scheduling, and these groups are rotated every scheduling period. Occasionally, the nurse will need to float to cover staffing needs. On the first day, the nurse will complete a designated screening and then will leave. The first shift will occur on the following Tuesday. The unit features a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6. First-time applicants are welcome to apply. Weekend work is required every other weekend. BLS certification is necessary. Local candidates are not eligible. A 50-mile radius rule applies to applicants. If one holiday falls during the assignment, the nurse should expect to work it; if two holidays, the nurse should expect to work one; if three, the expectation is to work two. Any requests for time off must be included in the application and assignment confirmation documents. Team members on this unit will be early adopters of new technology and innovative nursing practices. The unit encompasses a 32-bed capacity and focuses on enhancing nursing practices. Interdisciplinary team support includes various specialties. Common patient diagnoses include cellulitis, pneumonia, dementia, renal failure, malignancy, and other medical/surgical conditions. Candidates must be prepared for a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. Travelers who have worked permanently in this facility within the past 24 months are not eligible. A strict policy regarding THC use is in place, and exemptions require prior approval from designated health services. Fit testing is required before starting the assignment. Nurses must comply with all health services protocols prior to beginning work.
