Medical Lab Scientist – Longmont United Hospital About the Opportunity Longmont United Hospital, part of CommonSpirit Health, is seeking a qualified Medical Lab Scientist to join its Laboratory Services team in Longmont, Colorado. This full-time evening-shift position offers an excellent opportunity for laboratory professionals to contribute to accurate diagnosis and patient care in a supportive healthcare environment. The successful candidate will perform laboratory testing, analyze and report results, maintain laboratory instruments, and ensure compliance with quality control and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities As a Medical Lab Scientist, you will: Perform cytogenetic and other laboratory testing according to established protocols. Generate and report accurate results to support diagnosis, prognosis, and patient management. Ensure timely reporting and communication of critical laboratory results. Apply critical thinking and independent judgment to interpret and correlate laboratory data. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments. Perform required quality control and maintenance procedures. Identify testing variances and document appropriate corrective actions. Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with laboratory policies and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support high-quality patient care. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in a biological or chemical science as defined by CLIA requirements. Preferred MLS (ASCP) certification or an equivalent professional certification. Appropriate training in clinical laboratory science as evaluated by the Clinical Laboratory Director. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills. Knowledge of laboratory quality control and regulatory standards. Work Schedule Employment Type: Full-Time Hours: 40 hours per week Shift: Evening Remote Work: No Salary and Benefits The estimated compensation range for this position is $32.57 to $52.17 per hour , depending on qualifications, experience, and other applicable factors.
