Our client, one of the largest Energy companies in the US providing a wide range of Energy-related products and services to its customers, seeks an accomplished Remote Settlement Attorney – Personal Injury / Premises Liability

** TITLE: Remote Settlement Attorney – Personal Injury / Premises Liability

** LOCATION: Remote Role at 4 Irving Place, New York, NY 10003

** DURATION: 6-month contract with extensions based on performance

Pay Rate: $90.00/hr. - $105.00/hr (depending upon experience)

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced Settlement Attorney to join a dedicated settlement team handling personal injury matters, with a particular focus on premises liability claims and opportunities to assist with property damage settlements.

This is a settlement-focused position with no hands-on litigation responsibilities . The role is well suited for an attorney who enjoys analyzing the facts, evaluating damages and exposure, developing settlement strategies, negotiating with opposing parties, and bringing claims to resolution.

Professionals with backgrounds in personal injury litigation, insurance defense, claims, mediation, alternative dispute resolution, or complex settlement negotiations are encouraged to apply.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Evaluate personal injury claims and determine appropriate settlement strategies.
• Review medical records, pleadings, discovery materials, and other case documentation .
• Analyze liability, damages, exposure, and overall case value.
• Evaluate premises liability matters and assist with property damage settlements.
• Negotiate settlements with plaintiffs' counsel, claimants, and other parties.
• Participate in mediations, including private and court-sponsored mediations .
• Prepare clear and well-supported Requests for Authority (RFAs) .
• Develop settlement recommendations for appropriate authority approval.
• Distill complex case information into concise, actionable recommendations.
• Support case strategy and settlement discussions.
• Work collaboratively with claims, legal, and other internal teams.
• Maintain a strong focus on efficient and appropriate claim resolution.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Education : High School Diploma required.
• Admission to the New York State Bar strongly preferred/required for attorney candidates.
• Significant experience handling personal injury claims and settlements .
• Strong experience with premises liability cases .
• Proven experience evaluating claim exposure and settlement value.
• Strong settlement negotiation skills.
• Experience participating in mediation, both private and court-sponsored .
• Excellent legal writing and analytical skills.
• Ability to quickly understand complex case facts and identify the key issues affecting settlement value.
• Strong ability to communicate recommendations clearly to internal stakeholders.
• Collaborative, team-oriented approach.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully evaluate and resolve claims.
