About the Role

The Company is seeking an inaugural Managing Director for a Special Initiative that is dedicated to fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration in the areas of climate, mental health, and the arts. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and launching impact-driven programs, including a year-long fellowship, and overseeing the development and renovation of a historic property that will serve as a physical site for this work. This role requires a hands-on approach to both program design and site development, with a focus on creating and supporting the distribution of work that addresses critical issues. The Managing Director will be a key figure in establishing the organization, working closely with the Executive Director and founding Principals to put in place the foundational pieces for a developing entity. Ideal candidates for the Managing Director position will be impact-driven program designers with a track record of launching and running successful programs. They should be adept at building partnerships, both locally and internationally, and be prepared to work in a highly collaborative and entrepreneurial environment. Strong project management skills and the ability to serve as a liaison between technical specialists and organizational leadership are essential. The role also demands a candidate with a builder's mentality, who is comfortable with ambiguity and is energized by the prospect of advancing new ways of thinking and working. A collaborative relationship builder, the Managing Director will be expected to work effectively with high-profile partners and to communicate with authenticity and warmth.
