Job Summary and Qualifications

• • Administer radiation therapy treatments to patients.
  • Verify prescribed treatment dose before treatment, verify fields to be treated and angles to be used.
  • Assure placement of protective devices in order to shield otherwise healthy exposed tissue of patients
  • Place and immobilize patient to ensure accurate treatment. Maintain constant visual and intercom contact with the patient during treatment to assure patient remains in the proper position
  • Observe patient for unusual reaction and report any abnormal conditions to the radiation oncologist.
  • Chart treatment details in the patient's medical record.
  • Provides verification films on each patient treated.
  • Check treatment records daily and weekly for mathematical or documentation error.
  • Provides appropriate teaching to patients and families.
  QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiation therapy technology Certification in Radiation Therapy Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist. - Required
  • BS degree in related field. - Preferred
  • ARRT Board certified and participates in professional society. - Required
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider - Required
