Job Title

Registered Nurse – PACU / Preop (Travel Contract)

Location

Los Alamos, NM | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM) with some call coverage on nights and weekends | 6-Week Assignment | Expected ~40 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia care and monitoring for patients recovering from surgical procedures in a 3-bed PACU unit
• Perform preoperative assessments and preparation as part of a shared PACU/Preop role
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 in accordance with patient acuity and unit needs
• Respond to on-call cases within 30 minutes of notification during nights and weekends
• Care for a primarily adult patient population, including monthly ENT cases and common diagnoses such as appendectomy and cholecystectomy
• Document accurately using CQI and Medhost EHR systems

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience
• BLS certification required at time of submission
• ACLS certification required at time of submission
• PALS certification required at time of submission
• All required certifications must be current at submission — certifications are not available on site
• Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Combined Preop and PACU experience
• Familiarity with ENT surgical cases
• Experience with CQI or Medhost EHR platforms
