It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence.**Description of Work**The Provider Audit team is responsible for administering state-directed payment programs, supplemental payments and conducting annual desk reviews of provider’s cost reports to prepare cost settlements for Medicaid direct. The desk reviews are required to comply with state and federal regulations, certify public expenditures and furnish audited data for establishment of rates.**Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences**## ## **Salary Grade Range: $43,267.00 - $75,718.00**## **Recruitment Range: $43,267.00 - $58,195.00**## Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:* Consistently reviews and validates LEA cost report data with at least 95% accuracy, ensuring correct application of cost principles, allowable cost rules, and Medicaid reimbursement methodologies. Tracks and corrects discrepancies within established timelines.* Completes assigned LEA cost report audits, documentation, and follow‐up activities within 100% of required deadlines, including pre‐audit reviews, variance analysis, and submission of findings in accordance with agency audit procedures.* Produces audit workpapers and evidence that meet internal quality standards, with no more than one required revision per audit cycle.
