Physical Activity Level : Some work is performed in physically comfortable positions with little or light effort, and some work requires moderate effort. Lifting 30–40 pounds may be required and brief periods of heavy muscular exertion may also be needed. There may be extended use of upper body muscles and fine motor movements of the hands. Applicants qualifying based on college training or receipt of a baccalaureate degree will be required to submit an official college transcript to verify credentials claimed prior to appointment.

• Master’s Degree or higher in Educational Leadership or Curriculum and Instruction
• Certification as Principal, Parish/City Supervisor of Instruction, or Educational Leadership; possession of EDL 2 or 3 certification
• Five years of experience in educational administration and/or in-service training and professional development activities
• Demonstrated skill in instruction and program development
• Experience evaluating principals and teachers using LDE evaluation tools
• Demonstrated skill in research, presentations, database design and maintenance, and long‑range planning
• Ability to drive a car and/or ride in a vehicle for extended periods
• Statewide travel is an essential component of this position with possible concentration in a geographical or programmatic area
• Experience with overtime and moderate to heavy physical exertion, including lifting objects over 50 pounds, crouching, or crawling in restricted areas
• Ability to work extensive overtime may be required

Must possess the skill set required to plan, develop, implement and manage education programs necessary to meet federal and state requirements and to implement a model of continuous improvement. Assigned areas may include, but are not limited to, Curriculum and Instruction, Professional Development, Personnel, Leader and Teacher Evaluation, School Improvement, and Budget Planning.
