Field Service Technician

Our commitment to quality and reliability ensures that our customers receive the best solutions for their corrosion prevention and fluid management needs.The Service Technician is responsible for repairs and maintenance of rotating equipment, including pumps, gear boxes, valves, blowers, and vacuum pumps. The services may be performed in our repair facility located in West Springfield, MA or may be completed in the field at a customer's facility. The Technician must maintain a safe and clean work area.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Completes initial inspection and required paperwork for all items to be repaired or servicedDisassembles equipment while marking items and documenting current conditionSand blasts and paints items as requiredHelps identify items needed for repairMeasure all required parts for inspection reportsIdentifies, troubleshoots, and resolves issues with equipment, devices, or products; uses precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to make measurementsAssembles equipment per manufacturer specifications verifying acceptable tolerances are achievedAssists customers with tasks related to current equipment including pump removal, pump install, shaft alignment, vibration analysis, lube maintenance, and othersMaintains and completes required paperwork and time sheet.Ensures compliance with OSHA regulationsCleans up shop and performs other duties as assignedCompetencies:Ability to operate a forkliftStrong mechanical and problem-solving skillsCustomer service and consultative skillsStrong work ethic with ability to work under minimal supervisionVerbal and written communication skills, with ability to clearly communicate with engineering, technical support, sales, and managementOrganizational skills and attention to detailPhysical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.This role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.Travel: Travel will be local.
