Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a lasting impact as an Intensive Learning Community Lead Teacher for the upcoming school year. This contract role runs from August 2026 to June 2027 and is designed for an experienced Special Education Teacher with a passion for supporting students with significant disabilities in a self-contained classroom environment.

You’ll lead a small, dedicated team of 2-3 aides and manage a caseload of up to 10 students who require substantial support. Many learners may be autistic, with diverse communication, academic, behavioral, adaptive, and motor skill needs. Some will require AAC devices and individualized approaches to learning. Creating a structured and nurturing space, you’ll use clear routines and high expectations to help each child reach their fullest potential.

Qualifications:

• Current Special Education teaching license
• Demonstrated experience supporting students with significant disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum
• Strong leadership skills and ability to oversee aides and classroom staff
• Proficiency with communication supports and adaptive technologies (including AAC devices)
• Flexible, patient, and compassionate approach with strong communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to fostering a structured, consistent, and caring environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as Lead Teacher for an Intensive Learning Community classroom
• Oversee, train, and collaborate with 2-3 classroom aides
• Design and implement individualized programs and supports
• Support students’ communication, social, behavioral, and academic skills development
• Work closely with families and multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain a consistent daily routine and respond flexibly to student needs
