About the Position

Job Opportunity – Med-Surg Registered Nurse – Kansas

Start Date: December 14, 2026

Location: Overland Park, Kansas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 48 hours guaranteed preferred. Weekend requirement: 4 shifts (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday) within a 4-week period. Day and night shifts available.

Highlights:

• 24-bed Medical-Surgical unit with a 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Comprehensive case mix including IV management, central lines, wound care, chest tube management, and continuous bladder irrigation
• Meditech EMR system for streamlined documentation
• Full unit support with dedicated charge nurse, PCTs, and unit clerk on each shift
• Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, feeding pumps, Welch Allyn vital sign machines, and vein finders
• BLS and NIHSS assessments performed on unit

Requirements:

• Active RN or LPN license in Kansas or ability to obtain
• Prior inpatient acute care experience required
• Competency in basic dysrhythmias interpretation required
• Experience working at a trauma center strongly preferred
• Proficiency in PIV insertion/management, central line management, foley catheter insertion/management, NG tube placement, drain management, wound care, ostomy management, and EKG
• BLS certification required
