Vascular Technologist I - Outpatient - Day/Part Time - Aston

Primary Function The primary responsibility involves all phases of noninvasive peripheral vascular testing. The work is performed on outpatients in accordance with established procedures and protocols of the department under the direct supervision of the interpreting vascular physician. The vascular technologist is responsible for all non‑invasive vascular procedures in the vascular laboratory and must demonstrate significant, independent judgment in performing all procedures, with the ability to handle difficult or unusual situations. The technologist must evaluate studies for technical quality and correlate with other modalities when appropriate. Shift 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. No weekend and no holidays. Principle Duties Perform all diagnostic vascular procedures and operate all vascular equipment such as ultrasound imagers, treadmill, segmental limb pressure and pulse volume recordings, and differentiate normal from abnormal pathology. Review patient charts to verify physician orders and obtain pertinent clinical history related to the examination. Recognize characteristic changes related to age spans and chronic disease. Select appropriate procedures for diagnosis and identify contraindicated procedures for specific symptoms and test values. Differentiating user‑created artifacts from patient pathology. Explain the test to the patient and answer any questions, maintaining professional ethics and confidentiality. Ensure patient comfort, safety, and attend to their needs throughout the department visit. Use basic patient support equipment as needed. Evaluate studies for technical quality and utilize all necessary accessories for the procedure. Properly identify films. Assist with the Quality Assurance Program, including development and updating of policy and procedures, and pursue ongoing continuing education. Act in accordance with Christiana Care Mission Statement and Core Values. Perform other duties or projects assigned by supervisor, manager, administrative director, or medical director of the Vascular Lab. Follow departmental safety rules and policies, reporting any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or violations promptly. Provide care appropriate to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including knowledge of growth and development and identifying patient needs. Maintain patient confidentiality and consistently use two patient identifiers. Complete all mandatory education. Perform other related duties as required, including rotating through satellite locations. Education Requirement Graduation from a medical diagnostic ultrasound program or other allied health profession, or possession of equivalent training. Registered as a Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS). For new graduates: Registry‑eligible and must sit for registry and become RVT/RVS within the first year of employment or eligibility. Special Requirements Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification. Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credential or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS). Compensation This position pays $37.38 to $51.40 per hour based on experience. This pay range represents Christiana Care’s good faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on individual qualifications, experience, and performance relative to the role requirements.
