Auxiliary Programs Dance Instructor (Part-Time)

Annunciation Orthodox School seeks qualified Auxiliary Programs Dance Instructors to work with children 3 years old - 6th grade from2:30-5:30 PMMonday-Friday.Dance Instructors support a flexible program and create an environment favorable to learning and personal growth.They bring a creative and energetic quality and encourage children to learn through activities and experiences. Reports to: Director of Auxiliary Programs Status: Part-time/Hourly Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, between 2:30 PM and 5:30 PM, with hours and days assigned based on class schedule and program needs. Additional time may be required for performances. Responsibilities: Teach the fundamentals of dance in one or more of the following genres: Ballet, Jazz, & Hip Hop Choreograph a recital piece for each class that incorporates developmentally appropriate skills and techniques Prepare students to perform a memorized piece in the culminating spring recital Lead the direction, supervision, and organization of students during dance classes Apply youth development principles through communication, relationship development, respect for diversity, and the involvement and empowerment of youth Act as a positive role mod el for students through professional attitude and behavior Ensure students are actively supervised at all times Maintain high standards of health and safety in all activities Build relationships with students and families who participate in the Auxiliary Program Provide parents with appropriate feedback and information to support their children’s success Ensure the proper use, care, and maintenance of equip ment and facilities Actively participate in all program areas and duties as assigned Qualifications: Experience teaching and working with children in a variety of dance styles, including ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop Strong knowledge of dance techniques, instruction, and age-appropriate skill development. Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to communicate effectively with students, coworkers, and families High School Diploma or equivalent Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required #J-18808-Ljbffr Annunciation Orthodox School
