Director of Pricing

We are seeking a Director of Pricing to lead pricing strategy and actuarial analysis across a diverse Commercial Lines portfolio, including Commercial Auto, BOP, and CPP . This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for translating portfolio performance, competitive trends, regulatory requirements, and business objectives into actionable pricing and product recommendations.

The Director will lead a team of two actuarial analysts and partner closely with Underwriting, Product, Finance, Claims, Data, IT, and senior leadership to support profitable growth, rate adequacy, segmentation, and timely rate filings. This is an opportunity to combine deep P&C actuarial expertise with strategic leadership and direct business impact.

What Will You Be Doing?

• Lead pricing strategy and actuarial analysis across Commercial Auto, BOP, and CPP
• Evaluate loss and LAE trends, expenses, investment income, profit provisions, reinsurance, and other components of actuarially sound rates
• Own key actuarial analysis related to profitability, rate adequacy, competitive positioning, segmentation, and growth
• Develop recommendations for rate changes, coverages, classification plans, rating structures, and product enhancements
• Lead rate reviews and support timely, accurate, and well-documented rate filings
• Translate complex actuarial analysis into clear recommendations for senior management and business stakeholders
• Partner with Underwriting, Product, Finance, Claims, Data, IT, and other teams on strategic initiatives
• Identify opportunities to improve actuarial processes, analytical tools, and data sources
• Lead and develop a team of two actuarial analysts
• Set priorities, delegate work, review analyses, and establish quality-control standards
• Coach team members on actuarial methods, Commercial Lines insurance, data tools, communication, and project management
• Support the professional development and advancement of the actuarial team

What Do You Need?

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field
• 10+ years of progressive Property & Casualty actuarial experience
• Strong Commercial Lines pricing experience, ideally including Commercial Auto, BOP, and/or CPP
• ACAS or FCAS designation
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex actuarial analyses and communicate recommendations to senior leadership
• Strong understanding of insurance operations, accounting, regulation, reinsurance, and applicable actuarial standards
• Experience managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality work within established timelines
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and analytical tools such as SQL, SAS, R, or comparable platforms xhyhwjd
• Experience developing or improving complex analytical processes and data sources
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred:

• Previous experience managing actuarial professionals
• Experience with pricing and modeling platforms such as Earnix, Emblem, or comparable tools
• Experience with Commercial Lines rate filings and regulatory requirements
