Purchasing Manager

Under the direction of the Director of Operations and Project Management, the Purchasing Manager is responsible for the purchasing of materials, equipment, and supplies in the organization taking into consideration cost, quality, and production time restraints.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

1. Oversee and direct the purchasing department and performance of the Purchasing staff
2. Assess vendor capabilities, develop alternate sources, and evaluate vendor performance.
3. Establish department practices and procedures.
4. Ensure that purchasing documents are properly completed.
5. Analyze market; recommend major purchases of materials and supplies based on anticipated changes in prices or on unusual availability situations.
6. Prepare status report and updates for the Production team.
7. Communicate with other departments regarding new product developments and the availability of material and supplies.
8. Schedule and oversee to completion the shipping of machines and parts
9. Keep abreast of changes in the market, new product developments, or processes.
