Applying outside of your employee Workday account may cause delays in a hire process.**Department:**College of Arts & Sciences**Time Type:**Part time**FLSA Status:**Non-Exempt**Job Description:****Summary:** The Design and Build Lab (DaBL) is seeking a motivated and creative undergraduate or graduate student employee to join our team as a Student Lab Technician. Student Technicians support the daily operations of the makerspace by assisting visitors, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment. Ideal candidates will have experience or strong interest in one or more of the following areas: digital fabrication (laser cutting, 3D printing, vinyl cutting), electronics and Arduino, vector graphics design, 3D modeling, woodworking, or general prototyping. Strong communication skills, reliability, and a collaborative mindset are essential. Training will be provided for all major equipment and safety procedures.**Essential Functions:*** Training and mentoring other students.* Monitoring equipment use.* Troubleshooting basic technical issues.* Organizing tools and materials.* Supporting events or workshops.**Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:*** Part-time.* 10 hours per week.**Salary Range:*** $18.40 - $20.00 per hour.**Other Details*** **This position is available only to enrolled American University students.*** Please note this job announcement is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
