Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at Oasis Physical Therapy, Inc., your key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough evaluations of residents to assess their physical capabilities and establish treatment goals.
• Designing and implementing personalized treatment plans focused on enhancing strength, mobility, and overall functional independence.
• Applying a variety of therapeutic modalities, including therapeutic exercises and manual therapy techniques, to effectively address physical impairments.
• Regularly monitoring and documenting each resident's progress, and adjusting treatment plans based on their evolving needs.
• Working closely with a team that includes physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists to deliver comprehensive care to our residents.
• Providing education to residents and their families about home exercise programs and wellness strategies to support ongoing health improvements.
• Maintaining compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations and professional standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with a diverse population of residents, including older adults and individuals recovering from surgery or injury. Your ability to develop trusting relationships and empathy towards their unique challenges will greatly enhance their rehabilitation experience. You will be instrumental in empowering clients to regain their independence and confidence through targeted therapy interventions.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A current license to practice as a Physical Therapist in New York.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy, with a preference for candidates holding a Master's or Doctorate in the field.
• Strong communication skills, alongside the ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Competency to work well in a collaborative team setting, fostering a spirit of cooperation and support.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development through continuing education and training.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of physical therapy experience is required, prior work in skilled nursing facilities or with geriatric populations is highly desirable.
