OVERVIEW: The core mission of Southeastern College is to provide targeted educational services that meet community needs. Program Coordinators play a key role in meeting this mission. First and foremost, their role as Faculty members is to engage students, foster learning, role model professionalism, and ultimately produce competently trained students prepared for professional careers. Faculty designated as Program Coordinators also have the responsibility of monitoring and maintaining their programs at the campus level.Education, Experience, and Training:At Southeastern College, the Program Coordinators monitor the delivery of academic programs and are responsible for ensuring a quality education for students in their programs at the campus level. This is a full-time position that requires evening  and weekend availability.Bachelors in nursingCurrent, unrestricted State RN LicenseAcademic leadership experience, minimum 2 yearsFull time teaching experience, minimum 2 yearsFull time nursing practice experience, minimum 4 yearsBUSINESS CONTRIBUTIONS: Program Coordinators are responsible for leveraging their expertise to develop, maintain, and deliver education services to students through:Coordinating with Program Directors to maintain core curriculum at the campus levelCommunicating and monitoring delivery of core curriculum at the campus levelDelivering their own course lecturesFacilitating student engagementWorking one-on-one with studentsAssessing students and providing developmental feedbackESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Program Coordinator/Campus Chair: Faculty designated as Program Coordinators/Campus Chairs are responsible for the oversight of their specific program curricula at the campus level. Program Coordinators must:Work with Program Directors to ensure consistency and quality of programsPrepare for and attend faculty convocationMonitor programs at a campus levelEnsure consistent program deliveryReview lesson plansMeet with local advisory boardsCoordinate and monitor externship programsOrient new facultyAssist the Campus President, Dean, or other departmental leaders in special projects as requestedProvide mentorship to departmental faculty members as neededNurture a sense of teamwork and cooperation among department membersFaculty Responsibilities: As Faculty Members, Program Coordinators are also responsible for course delivery at their campus. This includes the following core areas:Prepare Course Plans and Materials: Review Course Control Document (CCD)Prepare syllabusCreate lesson plansCreate exams, quizzes, and projects/assignmentsCoordinate with librarian and bookstore for availability of materialsDeliver Courses: Administer pre-test/post-testDeliver lectures/facilitate labsGrade projects and examsProvide progress reports/mid-term feedbackMaintain grade bookEnforce policies (attendance, dress code, no food and drink...)Monitor Progress/Attendance: Monitor student progress and follow-up as neededTake daily attendance and enforce Southeastern College attendance policyFollow-up with students who miss a class (phone calls)Report attendance issues to the DeanAdvise Students: Answer student questionsBe available for one-on-one assistance/tutoringRecord Grades and Submit Reports: Maintain grade booksAdhere to departmental grading policiesProvide Dean with weekly reportsProvide students with mid-term evaluationsSubmit final gradesOther Duties - Adjunct and Full-time Faculty: Monitor equipment and supply needsMaintain classroomMaintain any relevant licensures and certificationsOther Duties - Full-time Faculty: Attend campus faculty meetingsParticipate in committees and knowledge sharing forumsPrepare for and participate in convocationPHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands are those required in a professional office setting and higher education teaching environment: communicating with coworkers, presenting to a classroom of students (virtual classrooms for on-line), demonstrating procedures and techniques, and getting to and from appropriate classes and offices.WORK ENVIRONMENT:Professional office setting: moderate noise levels; controlled indoor climate.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.LOCATION:This position is an onsite position located at your campus unless otherwise determined by the Executive Director and/or designee.
