Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Autism Authorization (AAAS) and Mild/Moderate Education Specialist credentials (required)
- Experience teaching special education at the middle and/or high school levels
- Expertise in individualized education programs (IEPs) and differentiated instruction
- Commitment to cultivating a positive, inclusive classroom space
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging, adaptable lesson plans aligned with IEP goals
- Utilize evidence-based strategies to promote student learning and independence
- Track and report on student progress; participate actively in IEP meetings
- Collaborate with colleagues and families to provide holistic support for students
- Foster a safe, supportive, and encouraging classroom climate that celebrates individuality and growth
