Senior/Principal Consultant - Lifecycle Assessment (LCA) Department: Circ. & Value Chain Trans. : Advisory Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time Location: United States Compensation: Senior Consultant: $74,000 – 106,000 USD / Principal Consultant: $102,000 – 131,000 USD Description We are seeking a highly experienced Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) professional to join our LCA Center of Excellence within the Circularity & Value Chain Transformation team. Our clients are increasingly seeking help to identify business and sustainability impact opportunities, leveraging lifecycle analysis to identify hotspots and implement decarbonization plans. This role will be focused on providing the technical leadership, rigorous quality assurance, and strategic insight required to guide our clients on their sustainability journey. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in materials science or engineering, more than five years of LCA experience, and a proven ability to deliver high‑quality work aligned with international standards and industry‑specific frameworks. They must be able to develop deep technical expertise across a wide range of sectors, with a particular focus on technology and electronics. Beyond LCA proficiency, this role requires an understanding of the complexities and challenges of diverse value chains, which is critical for identifying hotspots and levers within client products and services. Key Responsibilities: Serve as a technical lead for LCA projects, ensuring compliance with ISO standards and sector‑specific frameworks. Perform quality assurance on LCA models and deliverables using SimaPro, OpenLCA, and Excel (GaBi experience is a plus). Review and validate results against recognized LCA methodologies and client‑specific requirements. Support proposal development, including responding to RFPs and creating tailored solutions for clients. Engage with clients to understand their needs and design bespoke approaches that deliver value and insight. Collaborate on business development initiatives to expand LCA service offerings. Provide guidance on GHG inventories and the intersection of product carbon footprints and corporate carbon accounting. Mentor junior team members and contribute to the growth of LCA expertise within the organization. Requirements & Qualifications Degree in engineering, environmental science or sustainable development. Senior Consultant: Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on LCA experience across diverse sectors (tech sector experience is a plus). Principal Consultant: Minimum of 7 years of hands‑on LCA experience across diverse sectors (tech sector experience is a plus). Proficiency in LCA tools: SimaPro, OpenLCA, Excel; GaBi experience is advantageous. Strong understanding of key product footprinting standards and frameworks, including ISO 14040/14044 for LCA, ISO 14067 for product carbon footprinting, GHG Protocol Product Standard, EN standards for EPDs, EU Product Environmental Footprint (PEF), Product Category Rules (PCRs), and relevant industry‑specific guidelines. Experience with GHG inventories and corporate carbon footprinting. Excellent client engagement skills with the ability to tailor approaches creatively. Experience in managing multiple complex projects, with competing timelines and priorities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. Please note this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
