Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Salary: $90,000 - 130,000 per year Requirements:

• We require U.S. citizenship due to the nature of some government contracting work.
• We require 10+ years of experience in embedded software and C programming.
• We require a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• We prefer experience designing, developing, and validating real-time systems and signal processing algorithms.
• We prefer substantial hands-on work implementing DSP modules in embedded real-time environments using commercial DSPs or ARM platforms in C or C++.
• We prefer a strong understanding of wired and wireless communications systems and digital signal processing for transmit and receive paths.
• We prefer familiarity with communication theory, including signal processing, decision theory, estimation theory, and modulation/demodulation.
• We prefer systems engineering experience, including data communications architectures, telecom network design, and protocol analysis and selection.
• We prefer exposure to networking protocols such as TCP, UDP, IP, RTP, MPLS, and NDN.
• We prefer embedded hardware interfacing experience with SPI, TDM, Ethernet, USB, and I2C.
• We prefer familiarity with telecom standards such as ITU-T, IETF, and 3GPP.
• We value creative problem-solving, critical thinking, troubleshooting ability, and strong collaboration and communication skills.

• We design fast and efficient DSP algorithms for deployment on embedded processors.
• We architect and implement bare-metal, RTOS-based, and Linux firmware solutions.
• We evaluate algorithm performance by estimating processing resources such as MIPS, ROM, and RAM.
• We coordinate software and hardware development with other engineers, including prototyping, algorithm tuning, and performance testing.
• We research emerging technologies and assess how they can be integrated into our custom products for improvement.
