Surgical Technologist – Perioperative

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to support perioperative services at a hospital in Redwood City, CA. The Surgical Technologist will assist the surgical team before, during, and after procedures while maintaining a safe and sterile operating-room environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique throughout surgical procedures.
• Assist surgeons and nursing staff during operative procedures.
• Pass instruments, supplies, and equipment to the surgical team as needed.
• Perform surgical counts of instruments, sponges, needles, and other supplies.
• Assist with room turnover and preparation for subsequent procedures.
• Ensure surgical equipment and supplies are available and properly functioning.
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety protocols.
• Assist with specimen handling and labeling according to facility procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile surgical environment.

Required Qualifications:

• Recent experience as a Surgical Technologist / Surgical Tech in an acute-care hospital or operating-room setting.
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and perioperative procedures.
• Ability to work effectively with surgeons, RNs, anesthesia staff, and other OR personnel.
• BLS required.
• California-required credential/license eligibility must be verified.
• National certification such as NBSTSA/NCCT may be accepted depending on facility requirements.
