Description

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for a hospital OR Complex position requiring 2+ years of OR experience and BLS certification.

Details

• Hospital OR Complex with 11 operating rooms
• Surgical/operating room patient population
• Patient ratio of approximately 1:2 (estimates, not guaranteed)
• Uses Stryker equipment and EPIC EMR
• 3x12 day shift schedule from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekend hours and float requirements as required by facility
• Call requirements typically include one call per pay period and one weekend per month
• Rotating holiday coverage

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of OR experience required
• BLS certification from AHA required
• CORST certification preferred
• License required if applicable
• No certifications expiring within the first 30 days of assignment unless renewal documentation is provided
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required
• No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Coordinate all supplies and instrumentation needed to perform surgical procedures according to established policies and procedures
• Responsible for disposition and/or decontamination of instruments and supplies in the OR area
• Assist the RN with patient care planning, interventions, and outcomes
• Work under the supervision of the physician/RN and report to the Director/Manager
• Ceil blue scrubs supplied
• Flu vaccination required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1, with declinations/exceptions requiring approval prior to consideration
• Up to 5 days of requested time off allowed but must be made up during the assignment
• Accepts local candidates
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a reduced bill rate
• Candidates within 50 miles of the facility are restricted to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before requiring a 1-year separation or transition to a facility outside the 50-mile radius
