Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Labor and Delivery Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery General Information Location: Smyrna, TN Unit Name: Women’s Services Number of Beds: 9 L&D, 3 swing rooms, 2 ORs, & 3 bed OBED Patient Ratios: 1:2 Unit Staffing: Unit Secretary and scrub tech Dedicated CRNA & midwife in-house 24/7 OBGYN on call Documentation System: CPN and Meditech Scheduling Requirements: 4 weekend shifts per month Floating Policy: May float to mother/baby or outside department to assist as needed Patient Experience Requirements: Maintain above 75% satisfaction Qualifications Required Skills: Commitment to providing high-quality care to laboring patients Ability to support patient choice and promote vaginal birth opportunities based on patient preference Advanced Skills Preferred: Experience with spinning babies and STABLE program Procedures Performed on Unit: Cirkulation in OR IUPC (Intrauterine Pressure Catheter) FSE (Fetal Scalp Electrode) Magnesium Sulfate administration Postpartum hemorrhage management using JADA system Nitrous oxide utilization Certifications Required: Registered Nurse (RN) ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) BLS (Basic Life Support) NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Fetal Monitoring Dress Code Hot pink and black. Black on bottom is acceptable, but hot pink top is preferred. Personalized birth experiences are tailored to each patient's desires and needs. Couple care is promoted in our postpartum unit, ensuring that newborns remain with their mothers and facilitating breastfeeding. We also offer donor milk availability when needed.
