Metal Finish & Deburr Technician Aerospace Manufacturing

Our client in Sterling Heights is seeking a detail-oriented Metal Finish & Deburr Technician to support aerospace manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for finishing, deburring, polishing, grinding, and inspecting precision aerospace components to ensure they meet strict customer and industry quality standards. Candidates should have experience working with metal parts, hand tools, grinders, and precision measuring instruments in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deburr and finish precision aerospace components according to blueprints and specifications
• Remove sharp edges, excess material, and imperfections from machined parts
• Use hand tools, grinders, sanders, files, polishing tools, and deburring equipment
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections on finished components
• Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and engineering drawings
• Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
• Maintain quality standards and ensure parts meet aerospace specifications
• Handle aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and other aerospace metals
• Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S standards
• Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
• Work closely with machinists, quality inspectors, and production teams

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous deburring, metal finishing, grinding, or aerospace manufacturing experience preferred
• Experience using hand and power tools in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to read blueprints and work instructions
• Strong attention to detail and quality control
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed

Preferred Skills:

• Aerospace manufacturing experience
• Experience with precision machined parts
• Knowledge of GD&T and blueprint reading
• Experience with polishing, sanding, grinding, or buffing metals
• Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, and measuring equipment
• CNC machining environment experience

Pay: $17-$23, depending on skills
